Feature Request: Simplified Time Tracking with One-Click Confirmation
To reduce the administrative effort of daily time tracking, the system could automatically generate a working time proposal based on each employee’s predefined work schedule. Employees would then receive a short email notification and could confirm the proposed working hours with a single click or adjust them if necessary.
Example Workflow:
- Employee's regular schedule: 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM
- The system automatically creates a time entry proposal.
- The employee receives an email containing a Confirm button.
- With one click, the employee confirms the recorded time.
- Only deviations such as overtime, medical appointments, early departures, vacations, or other exceptions require manual adjustments.
Benefits for Employees:
- Significantly less administrative effort.
- No need to manually enter the same working hours every day.
- In most cases, time tracking is reduced to a single click.
- Higher user satisfaction due to a faster and more convenient process.
Benefits for the Company:
Even small time savings can create a measurable business impact when multiplied across the entire workforce.
For example, assuming 50 employees and approximately 220 working days per year:
- Saving 1 minute per employee per day results in approximately 183 hours saved annually.
- Saving 3 minutes per employee per day results in approximately 550 hours saved annually.
With an estimated labor cost of €30 per hour, this represents a potential productivity gain of approximately €5,500 to €16,500 per year, without changing any core business processes.
In addition, a simple confirmation-based workflow can improve data quality and compliance. Employees are more likely to review and confirm their actual working time when the process only takes a few seconds, compared to manually entering their complete working hours every day.
Summary
A one-click confirmation workflow combines ease of use with accurate time tracking. It reduces administrative overhead for employees, increases adoption of the time tracking system, improves data quality, and provides a measurable efficiency gain for the company.
I would appreciate your feedback on whether this idea could be a candidate for the product roadmap. If this is not the right channel for feature requests, I would be grateful if you could forward it to the appropriate team or point me in the right direction.
From my perspective, this feature could provide a meaningful usability improvement for customers whose employees have largely predictable working schedules, while still allowing easy handling of deviations and maintaining accurate time tracking records.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your feedback.
