Custom attributes not showing up

Hi,
Our customer has created a new custom attribute called Telephone number yesterday, but when I try to retrive it through the API I can't find it anywhere.
We have tried to put data into the field on one of the employees to make sure it had data, but it doesn't really help.
Can't see the attribute in either /company/employees/custom-attributes nor /company/employees/
